We follow national and local guidance regards to Covid prevention. Currently students are encouraged to regularly sanitise hands, keep distance between people wherever possible, and wear a mask in all indoor areas, except whilst eating, and seated in class. Students remain in Year Group Bubbles. Pupils must not share any of their own equipment. Students have been given Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) to undertake at home twice a week. These measures will change due to updated guidance from the Government or Local Council.
We have a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including sports groups, music groups, drama, history, art and homework support. These take place before school, during lunchtime, and after school.
Financial support is available from Tower Hamlets council between 30th June and 30th September, details are available on the Tower Hamlets website.
Information is available on our Free School Meals page on our website.
Tower Hamlets council provides universal FSM regardless of the parent(s) income to include children of residents of the borough who attend primary school. If you think your child is eligible for FSM at secondary school you must complete a claim form available from schools or by telephoning the benefits service on 020 7364 5000.

Lockers are £10 and are available to students for the duration of their secondary education at SPWT. Lockers will be allocated at the beginning of the academic year, or following enrolment for mid-phase students/in-year transfers once payments has been received. Students will need to sign a locker protocol before allocation. The Year Team Leader and Student Achievement Coordinator will be able to give your child more information on this.
Communicate with the school, get live behaviour updates and pay for lunch and trips etc all in one place, via the SIMS Parent app.
Students should be at school for 8:30am and finish at 3:15pm. See transition booklet for further details.
We operate a cashless catering system. All students will be allocated a lunch card which will enable them to have lunch. Lunch costs £2.30 and we recommend parents use the SIMS Pay for which we will provide details. Those students who are eligible for a free school dinner (FSM) will have their lunch card automatically topped up for them. Students can bring in packed lunches, we are a Gold Standard Healthy School, and pack lunches should reflect this (no sweets/chocolate, no fizzy drinks etc).
We invite all our new students to come to summer school. This is a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and get to know the school building whilst taking part in fun activities and exciting lessons. This is fully funded so there is no cost to parents. Please sign up ASAP.
Letters will be sent out with tutor group information, and we have a two day induction planned for 3rd & 6th September.
We have the pastoral team as a first point of support (Tutors, Student Achievement Coordinator, Year Team Leader) and a Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team. We also have staff trained as Mental Health First Aiders and school counsellors that students can be referred to. We also recommend that once students are 11 years old, they sign up to kooth.com
