At St Paul’s Way Primary School, we are always looking for opportunities to bring learning to life in exciting and meaningful ways. Recently, our pupils were transported into a world of adventure through a Peter Pan workshop delivered by Perform, where imagination and creativity took centre stage.

The session began with a special visit from Peter Pan, who invited pupils on a journey to Neverland. As children in Neverland cannot attend school, they were encouraged to think about who they would like to be, from pirates to mermaids and beyond. This immediately sparked their imagination and enthusiasm.

To prepare for their journey, the young learners took part in a range of warm up activities, using movement to create shapes such as stars and pencils, alongside energetic exercises. They were then introduced to key characters including Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Nana and Captain Hook, each with their own unique action.

They were challenged to remember and perform these actions as characters were called out, building both focus and confidence.

As the adventure continued, pupils worked together to find the Jolly Roger, scrubbing decks, pulling ropes and using imaginary telescopes. A particular highlight was the magic rocks, where pupils decided what would happen when someone sat on them, from laughing uncontrollably to falling asleep or turning into a bug.

The workshop ended with a treasure hunt in Captain Hook’s treasure room, where the young learners had to freeze silently to avoid being caught, followed by a moment of reflection as they made wishes with Tinkerbell.

Experiences like this open pupils’ minds to the world of imagination, encouraging creative thinking and a love for learning beyond the classroom.

This workshop strongly reflects our value of Aspiration, as pupils were inspired to think beyond their everyday experiences, explore new ideas and believe in what they can achieve through creativity and confidence.
