Year 8 Student, Roxana, Secures A Place In First Story Young Writers Residential with ARVON

We are delighted to celebrate the success of Roxana in Year 8 who has secured a place on the prestigious First Story Young Writers Residential with ARVON.

At the beginning of the summer she will travel to West Yorkshire to spend a week working alongside professional writers, developing her creative writing practice and exploring new approaches to storytelling.

The residential is highly competitive and selection is based on the strength of each application, making Roxana achievement especially impressive.

This opportunity will allow Roxana to immerse herself in a community of young writers from across the country, sharing ideas, receiving expert guidance and building confidence in her voice as a writer.

Experiences like this help young people to refine their craft, broaden their imagination and see themselves as part of a wider creative landscape.

This marks the second year running that a student from St Pauls Way Secondary School has been successful in gaining a place on this programme, which forms part of our wider First Story initiative that supports pupils to develop their writing talent.

We are incredibly proud of Roxana achievement which strongly reflects our value of Aspiration, as she has set high goals and worked to achieve them through dedication and creativity. Aspiration is shown through her commitment to improving her writing and embracing challenging opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.

We look forward to seeing the impact of this experience on her future writing and celebrating her continued achievements within our school community.
