Recently, our young learners enjoyed an exciting opportunity to explore the world of science and innovation through a hands on learning session with students from Queen Mary University.

During the visit, children worked alongside university students who guided them through a range of fascinating scientific topics including space, gravity, sports technology, astronomy and pharmaceutical science. The session allowed pupils to discover how science is used in everyday life and how it continues to shape the future.

The university students supported pupils by explaining key scientific concepts in an engaging and accessible way. Through demonstrations, discussions and practical activities, children were encouraged to investigate ideas, ask questions and explore how things work.

Pupils took part in interactive experiments focused on gravity and forces, discovered more about planets and the universe, explored how science improves sports equipment and performance, and learned about how medicines are developed to help people.

Throughout the session, pupils showed great enthusiasm, teamwork and focus. They worked collaboratively, shared ideas and applied their knowledge during each activity. The experience helped children to develop their scientific understanding, build confidence when working with university students and think critically about the world around them.

The visit also encouraged pupils to consider future opportunities within science related careers, showing them the exciting possibilities that further education can offer.
