We  recently welcomed families to a vibrant art exhibition that celebrated the powerful theme of belonging.

The event brought together a wide range of creative work from children across the school, each piece offering a personal interpretation of what it means to feel accepted, valued and part of a community.

The exhibition provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to express themselves and to explore an idea that is central to their wellbeing.

Every work on display represented a unique viewpoint. One pupil created a memory suitcase filled with artwork of places where they feel safe and connected. 

Another pupil presented the idea, using an original PowerPoint, that fitting in often involves changing who you are, whereas belonging means being accepted exactly as yourself.

One child designed objects that are a reflection places that make her happy alongside this was a small bin filled with the things she dislikes, symbolising the freedom to express honest feelings.

Several pupils explored belonging through the idea of unity. One used recycled materials to build a model of the Earth, showing that people from all backgrounds are connected. Another produced a family map capturing important moments and relationships.

The exhibition not only showcased creativity but also encouraged pupils to think deeply about identity and connection.

This aligns strongly with one of our school values, community. By reflecting on the people and places that help them feel grounded, pupils gained a deeper appreciation of the strength and comfort that a supportive community can offer.
