Recently, our students were given the opportunity to visit St Paul's Way Trust School, where they undertook real science experiments in the secondary school’s science laboratory!

The visit was organised so that they could accomplish one of their science curriculum's main goals—reversible and irreversible changes.

During the lesson, the students were taught what happens when materials are heated. The experiments gave them hands-on experience on how certain materials undergo irreversible changes when they are burnt. Like marshmallows! This experience allowed them to learn in a way that their usual classroom studies wouldn’t be able to meet.

One of the best things about the trip was the independence each students were given in the laboratory. They were free to conduct investigations independently, make hypotheses, test and compare results.

The trip not only enhanced their studies but also opened a new door into the world of science. It was a brilliant way to encourage a love for STEAM subjects; many students were asking for a second trip there!

This field trip truly aligns with Aspirational Adam because it gets our students thinking about being scientists in the future and where their education could lead them. It made science more real as a subject and displayed what they could do if they kept being curious and questioning the world around them. With interactive and engaging lessons, our school is not merely teaching our students outstanding scientific knowledge but also showing them the wonders of what good hard work can entail!
