This term our Year 5 pupils went on an exciting trip to the Science museum. They have been learning about materials during their science lessons and this experience allowed them to witness firsthand how they are formed.

The children were filled with joy and enthusiasm as they ventured through the interactive exhibits. A highlight from the trip was a slide made of a variety of different materials which the pupils were even allowed to use!

Drew, said, “The slide was the most interesting part.”

A museum worker fascinated the children by explaining the amazing ways different materials work and what they can be utilised for.

Arisha, said, “An interesting thing I learnt was that mixing hydrogen peroxide and fairy liquid gives you a foamy paste, called elephant toothpaste.”

The museum also had a Wonderlab Gallery which completely blew the minds of every pupil. It had an assortment of different exhibits each far more interesting than the next.

Maya, said, “I loved this trip because we got to explore different activities in the Wonderland Gallery.” The gallery had transforming shapes and showed breathtaking illusions, all with the help of science.

The hands-on science experiments were truly an activity to remember! Nehad said, “The glow-in-the-dark science experiment was amazing!”.

Just like one of our values characters, Aspiration Adam, who teaches our pupils to strive for their personal best, this trip truly encouraged curiosity and ambition in every pupil, allowing them to dream big by pursuing an interest in science and all the new possibilities that come with it.
