SPW Sixth Formers Perfecting Performance at the Premier League

The Eze Foundation has once again provided a once in a lifetime opportunity for our sixth formers, organising a full day trip to the Premier League’s headquarters in central London.

Surrounded by images of iconic footballers, past and present, students were ushered into a unique work environment that was unlike anything they had experienced before.

Aadam Ahmed, Year 12, said, "The Premier League office surprised me – not just by how sleek and professional it was, but by how it welcomed both introverts and extroverts into roles that truly fit them."

After a lovely lunch there was a networking mixer where students circulated amongst a variety of staff to find out more about their personal stories. Simultaneously, their recruitment team ran an employability and CV development workshop, equipping students fast approaching the world of work with the knowledge to help them stand out from the crowd when applying for jobs.

Cherno Jallow, Year 12, said, "I learnt that doing social media for the Premier League takes real effort like learning to use a camera and edit on apps like Instagram or Capcut, and staying persistent even if your work doesn’t get posted."

One of the highlights of the day was the panel discussion, which included Ikechi Eze, Eberechi, Felicia Pennant, Sherlyn Koh, and Mayowa Quadri. and hosted by Najma Elmi. Students listened intently as they spoke about their personal experience, absorbing words of wisdom, and then asking probing questions to find out more.

Aadam Ahmed, Year 12, said, "The key lessons and tips I learnt on that day would be to make sure to gain advice from others and make decisions by myself as others would have good advice through their own personal experience and mistakes.”

The day culminated with a photo opportunity next to a replica of the Premier League trophy. Students delighted in posing with it, creating memories to share with family and friends that will last a lifetime.

We want to send out heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Premier League and Eze Foundation for their time and enabling such a wonderful experience for our students.

The Premier League team were unbelievably generous with their time, with numerous directors taking time from their busy schedule to cover a number of topics, ranging from the company’s community programme to working with top talent and the company’s approach to marketing.
