SPW Drumworks performance

Recently, our students delivered an exciting DrumWorks performance in the school playground, showcasing their confidence, teamwork and musical talent to a large audience of peers.

They have been taking part in weekly sessions led by DrumWorks who are a programme that empowers young people to create their own music, build confidence and develop leadership skills through regular participation and performance.

Today, they work with hundreds of young people across east London, placing creativity and collaboration at the heart of its approach.

This recent performance was particularly special. After rehearsing on the same day, our students took the bold step of performing live in the playground in front of the entire student body, demonstrating focus and resilience.

The performance was further enhanced by a collaboration with Sarah Bonnel School, who joined students to create a high energy and engaging showcase.

Our students reflected positively on the experience, with one sharing, “I learned that even though there are loads of people watching all you need to do is keep playing and you will succeed.”

This performance is a key reflection of our value of Aspiration, as they challenged themselves to step outside their comfort zones, build confidence and aim high through creativity and performance.
