Outstanding GCSE Results

Our Year 11 students secured an outstanding set of results this summer despite being the first cohort to undertake the new reformed GCSEs with a 1-9 grading system in English and Mathematics. The school has, once again, achieved record breaking results with student progress way above the national average.

Top performers included Doreen Baroi, who achieved the new top grade 9s in English Language, Literature and Mathematics. Doreen, who also obtained six A* grades in her other subjects secured her place as one of the top performing GCSE students in the country. Other exceptional successes included, Humayra Ahmed Jannath, who secured two grade 9s, one grade 8 and six A*s, Rashel Ahmed, who achieved one 9, two grade 8s and four A*s and Nasmin Uddin, who attained an amazing eleven A-A* grades.

The proportion of St Paul's Way Graduates obtaining the English Baccalaureate has once again increased which positions this year's cohort as one of the highest achieving schools in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and East London. In addition, the proportion of students achieving the top grades, (9-7) in English or English Literature, now sits well above the national average.

Mr Akerman, Headteacher, said:

“It is a real privilege to have seen this year group mature and grow over the last five years and I am delighted that their hard work has paid off. I join together with other SPWT colleagues in celebrating their incredible success which was achieved against a back drop of uncertainty from the most recent curriculum reforms”.
