It is never too early to inspire our youth to consider a pathway to university. That is why we have such trusted and incredible partners like Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) who provide amazing opportunities for our pupils.

This term, our pupils had the incredible experience of taking their academic studies beyond the school grounds and onto the impressive QMUL campus.

This inspirational trip is just one of the ways we provide transformational education that will positively impact our pupils for a lifetime.

The Queen Mary visit was packed full of fun, adventure and, most importantly, education.

The session began with pupils filling in a form asking for their honest opinions about university and what it meant to them. This created a space where the children felt able to open up about their concerns or genuine interest in this new stage of life.

They then got to dive right into a variety of activities, each teaching them something different about careers and university life.

Some activities involved starting their own society, where they used creativity to design posters to promote it. Other activities focused on practical skills, where pupils practised budgeting their money and even planning their weekly schedules.

They were able to explore various aspects of university life that they would otherwise not have known, developing a deeper understanding of the overall experience.

It would not have been a visit without the opportunity to participate in a campus tour. Pupils were escorted around on a scavenger hunt, trying to find hidden golden coins across the campus.

Their workshop concluded with a very insightful session from the QMUL Centre of the Cell, where pupils delved into the science of the cells found within the human body.
