Greenhouse Sport at SPWT
Greenhouse Sports facilitates programmes which are carefully designed to be fully inclusive, fun, safe and engaging for participates. The sessions are well planned and structured, with a culture of high expectations for coaches and participants alike. Coaches encourage participants to self-reflect, take responsibility for their choices, behaviours and personal development.
We are very fortunate to have two Greenhouse Sports programmes: Tennis and Basketball with Coaches Chris and Asando. The tennis programme began in 2012 and continues to go from strength to strength. Players have access to tennis before school, lunch times, after-school and for those most committed, during curriculum time. We regularly compete in the National Schools League and several players go on to represent Tower Hamlets at the London Youth Games. Alongside their tennis, players have access to amazing opportunities including visits to Wimbledon and the ATP World Tour Finals; an annual residential to the Isle of Wight. We have appeared on BBC and Sky News and had a Royal visit! Additionally, a small team of players were given a rare opportunity to meet and interview Novak Djokovic!
Our basketball programme is a new addition this year and we are very much looking forward to the work Asando will be doing with our aspiring players. Watch this space!
