We hosted a Family Fun Fest at St Paul’s Way Primary School, and it was truly a magical must-see event. It brought the community together for an unforgettable day of fun laughter and connection.
The entire event was organised by a dedicated volunteer parent group known as the Friends of St Paul’s Way (FOSPW), and it was an outstanding success that had a little bit of something for everyone.
The fest was filled to the brim with activities to do, from face painting, Tombola, and mask colouring to live music performances by the pupils themselves, it truly was spectacular.
A must-see moment was a solo performance played by our Year 3 pupil Gabija and Year 2 pupils, Meiko and Laura, who left the crowd in awe. Everyone's faces were painted with wide smiles overflowing with joy.
Kabir, a parent, said “We’re enjoying, especially since my child is very excited. He has one million pounds of happiness!” It wasn’t just a success for our school, but the local community as well. We had neighbours nearby attend just to support us even though they didn’t have students themselves admitted to our school.
Gerard Lloyd, a parent, said, “Very busy with so many people, the vibe is good and nice music.” Even Sadika, another parent, said, “My son is very excited and running around.”
There was a vast variety of food to choose from both sweet and savoury. Year 1 pupil, Tawheed, said “I like the brownies and the cake!” You could find something to satisfy any taste.
Dava, a parent, said, “It’s fun and fun for the kids, and there are lots of creative things to do here, plus they have amazing hot dogs!”
The event was intended to build on the community at St Paul’s Way and raise money to provide more to our pupils' academic curriculum.
“We wanted to build a community and this event was the destination of doing that.”

Family Fun Fest wasn’t just a fundraiser, but a way to build relationships and make memories. It connected teachers, parents, pupils and even neighbours beautifully.
Mr. Ash, a teacher at St Paul’s Way, Said, “One of our three school values is Community, and seeing how much of our community has come together is the most rewarding part.”
The Family Fun Fest was a rare occasion for parents to bond with one another as well as for our pupils to participate in something much greater than usual.
Mr Ash, said, “Almost an hour after the school day and we’re surrounded by happy faces.”
Overall, the fest left a mark on every attendee and proved to be more than just an average school event. It was a demonstration of the power of community.
