At St. Paul’s Way Primary, we believe in creating a strong, supportive learning environment that extends beyond the classroom. One of the highlights of our school term is 'Dear Time' (Drop Everything and Read).

This initiative encourages parents and carers to come into the classroom and read alongside their child, reinforcing the importance of reading as a shared, enjoyable activity.

During 'Dear Time,' our students are given the opportunity to pick a book of their choice, and their parents are invited to read with them, creating a calm and focused atmosphere where everyone can enjoy the wonders of a good story.

This initiative is designed to foster a love of reading while strengthening the relationship between parents, children and school.

It’s not only about reading for academic progress but also about nurturing a positive relationship with books and sparking a genuine passion for reading for pleasure.

It builds a sense of community as parents and teachers come together with the shared goal of fostering a supportive, engaging learning environment.

Y1 student, Musa’s Mum, said, "I attend almost all sessions so I can see how confident he is becoming in the classroom. It’s a chance for me to bond with him and I can see he has improved a lot with his reading.”
