Kay's Anatomy by Adam Kay

Review by Ms Thompson, Science Teacher

Library age rating: suitable for all ages

Genre: non-fiction, science, medical

Plot summary

The full title of this book is Kay’s Anatomy: A Complete (and Completely Disgusting) Guide to the Human Body. This book answers every question you could possibly have about your body. Why does your skin get wrinkly in the bath?  Will you get cold if you go outside with wet hair?

Positives

It's a comedy written by a former doctor! It's informative, funny, and a little bit gross. You'll love it if you enjoy the Horrible Science book series.

Negatives

None!

 Reading recommendations

Adam Kay is best known for his number-one bestselling book This Is Going to Hurt which is a collection of diary entries written by Kay during his medical training. I would also recommend The Body: A Guide for Occupants by Bill Bryson which is another book about the human body and its functions. If you want to read fiction, then I would recommend The Ten Thousand Doors of January by Alix E. Harrow, The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt, and American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins.
