SPWT Welcomes a Thousand Guests

Mornings to Remember

Year 6 students from 58 different Primary Schools visited St Paul's Way Trust School over the four days; this was our biggest Open Week with over a hundred visitors every day. Prospective families were shown around the school after an introduction from Ahmed Elbahja (7L), Md-Hamza Yusuf Uddin (7W), Farhana Khatun (7R), Beattie Green (9W), Shagor Ahmad (9T) and Headteacher, Grahame Price. Our busiest day was Tuesday 24th September, we welcomed two hundred fifty visitors and completely filled the Willoughby Theatre!

Thank you to the student presenters, for sharing their experience of settling into their new school and our enthusiastic Year 7 tour guides. The most frequently asked questions have been collected here (click to view or download) in a FAQ.pdf.

An Evening of Celebration

Youngsters and their families from 48 different primary schools also attended our Open Evening. An event full of music, fun and laughter and we were delighted that around five hundred visitors attended. Anika Rahman (Head Girl) and Anas Hussain (Head Boy) led the presentations in the Willoughby Theatre.

Although our Open Week has now come to an end families still wishing to visit the school are very welcome to contact Faruk Hussain, tel: 020 7987 1883 ext. 103 or for an appointment.

St Paul's Way Trust School and Sixth Form 'Outstanding' (Ofsted March 2013)

St Paul's Way Trust School - 'Outstanding'

Following our Ofsted Inspection 21st/22nd March 2013 our full report has now been published.

The report gives 'Outstanding' judgements in all areas: Achievement of Pupils, Quality of Teaching, Behaviour and Safety of Pupils and Leadership and Management.

Inspectors praise the school for our 'relentless pursuit of scholarship and excellence' and recognise the vital role played by our 'high profile university partners' which they describe as 'exceptional'.

Congratulations to everyone involved; especially the students, staff, parents, governors and trustees that have worked so hard to achieve this outcome.

St Paul's Way Sixth Form - 'Outstanding'

Inspectors have praised, without reservation, our new Sixth Form.

'The Sixth Form is Outstanding. Achievement is rising rapidly due to strong teaching which is supported by the school's university partners'

The report explains that:
'Students work extremely hard and make rapid progress towards their AS and A-level targets'

Congratulations to everyone involved with our Sixth Form; especially the students, the Sixth Form Team and our university partners for their unrelenting drive and ambition.

St Paul's Way Trust VI Form students celebrate outstanding A Level results

Students at St Paul's Way Trust VI Form are celebrating outstanding results at A Level. All students are progressing to university with 50% obtaining places at top 'Russell Group' universities including LSE, UCL and QMUL. In March 2013 Ofsted awarded the school 'Outstanding' in all categories, including the VI Form.

Two of our top performing students were Shamim Miah and Tonny Duong. Shamim will be studying Social Policy and Economics at London School of Economics after achieving 2 A grades and a B, Tonny will be studying Electrical Engineering at UCL after achieving an A*, an A and a B.

Shamim Miah said, "I feel ecstatic that I got into my first choice university, LSE. In the past few years, St Paul's Way Trust School has taught me that if you have a thirst for learning the grades will come. I enjoy learning, and intend to go on to learn much more!"

Paul Newbury, VI Form Director of Learning said, "We are delighted by the success of our young people and by the resilience and determination they have shown in succeeding in their chosen pathways. There are some truly outstanding results. These results confirm that students in our new VI Form make outstanding progress. They establish St Paul's Way Trust as an academic VI Form which can support students to enter the top universities."

Students at the school received a high number of top grades. 48% of grades awarded were at A*-B, 11% higher than the local average last year. St Paul's Way Trust is a 'Faraday' Science specialist school with Professor Brian Cox as its patron therefore it was especially pleasing that students gained places at top universities to study scientific subjects such as Electrical and Aeronautical Engineering.
