On the 9th May our students took part in the Music Junction performance with the London Chamber Orchestra at Cadogan Hall, London. The students were outstanding and thoroughly enjoyed the whole project especially the final performance.
This year our involvement was with beginner instrumentalists. We are in discussions with the Music Junction team to extend our input to include beginners (next year's Year 7 new starters) and also mentors from our music scholarship programme. The music team are extremely excited about this development for SPWT students. The only other school currently providing mentors is Bancrofts. Below are some quotes from students involved this year:
"It sounds like an amazing scene from a film, I want to do this again next year" - Saim, beginner trombonist
"The mentors clearly loved the project and their instruments. They inspired me to love my violin more" - Rinesa, second year music junction
"The concert was amazing!" - Azir, beginner trombonist
The school continues its unwavering and continued support of the young musicians and music as an integral part of education at St. Paul's Way Trust. Debra Brown, Director of Learning for Music
