Wellcome Trust chooses SPWT for new Science Project

sixth form in OxfordSir Steve Redgrave - 5 times gold medallist at the Summer Olympics

St Paul's Way Trust School is proud to announce that we have been chosen as the only secondary school in the country to launch a new and exciting science project called "In The Zone".

On the 9th February, the Wellcome Trust launched its science experiment kits linked to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. This famous and charitable organisation is providing free practical science activities to every school in Britain to celebrate the excitement around the London-2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Sir Steve Redgrave (a five times gold medal winning Olympian rower) was present for the launch of the kits in our school. He talked to the students and kindly participated in some fascinating experiments.

This launch was attended and filmed by the BBC and reported in various articles in the web. You can view some of the footage and read more about the "In the Zone" project at the following links, or clicking on the image on the left.

SPWT - Sixth Form

with Lord Mawson OBE

Our new Sixth Form opened in September 2011, based at the St Paul's Way Trust School campus. We are delighted to be working as a partner in this project with Mulberry School for Girls, an outstanding school with a well-established Sixth form and a track record of delivery for post-16.

The subjects on offer will reflect, in part, SPWT's field of specialisation: Science ('Faraday Plus') and Visual and Performing Arts ('Arts Plus').
A range of other subjects are also on offer for students who wish to pursue other talents and a more balanced pathway at this stage.
